We signed up for a campaigner trial account in early 2015 and used a debit card as required. We didn’t care for them so went elsewhere.
We heard from them today that the dormant bank account did not have enough money to pay them after nearly $300 in fees.
I called them and they refused to refund any money, and even asked for the money owing after having exhausted the bank account! When I refused, the supervisor said that he’ll send the account to collections.
The supervisor said that we have to request a monthly receipt, as customers don’t want to be bothered with receiving these receipts. In other words, by not sending a monthly receipt and not sending an occasional email suggesting that the account should be used they receive money for not doing anything.
Avoid this company at all costs.

I was charged for the service because we did not cancel our 30-day trial in time. I realize this is our own fault and within the terms and conditions of the free trial, however it seems pretty unforgiving to not credit back the charge when it is clear that the account was never used. From a customer service standpoint, it makes me feel like they don’t really care.

I had had a horrible experience Campaigner. I wanted only to take a quick look at their templates. They make you give them your credit card information before you can do this. I never used their services but they billed me for months. I asked, but they refused, to refund my money. They are the only e-mail marketing company that I am aware of who requires a credit card number to investigate their services. Stay away. There are many other companies who provide great e-mail marketing services who operate with integrity.

We are a K-12 Education firm. We have 90,000 school principals that rely on our updates in primary subject areas. Our impact is substantial.
We have been clients and using – flawlessly – the service of Contactology.com. To our nervousness Campaigner buys out this company in March and on May 1 we are migrated over to Campaigner.
The service is expensive – and for those who are viewing their reports and such – you what you DO NOT SEE is that they have this thing running on a 1990’s server. It is SLOW. It is what emailing was 5 years ago. Technology has moved past.
We have been on the phone with Campaigner staff EVERY DAY since starting. We are perplexed by why something as simple as a generic email ( we don’t use a template) can’t find it’s wat to our principals.
Cold Facts:
We went from a 1% soft bounce rate to over 8%! This is after adding the .txt files to our domain. Campainger IP’s have a huge problem getting in to clients and these are google or yahoo emails!
They can’t report simple things like how many times has Mr XYZ opened an email over the last X number of days – bizzare
Exporting contacts out is a strange convuluted path – and you can only do this one list at a time. Otherwise there website slows down or just crashes.
Their site DOES NOT work well if you us Firefox or Chrome. You will have to us IE for half the stuff to work.
Lastly, for the last 27 days since we were switched over – Campaigner can not get the Forms to work properly. So if you plan on using Forward to Friend or Sign Up – good luck.
On the upside – at least they have 24/7 phone person who answers. However- the caveat is ACTUAL solutions are very scarce to come by.
We write this to warn small business who may not have the funds nor patience to pursue this operation. We are moving to another provider.

I signed up for the campaigner.com email service as a trial to test it out; however, I never ended up using it. Now after 1 year, I have noticed this charge on my account which I traced all the way back to April of 2014. I have not used their email service even once. This is a mistake. I immediately contacted Campaigner through their website email form and explained the situation. I received an email reply that indicated I should call personally to cancel the service. So I did call personally and the rep was very fast to deny any refund referring me to his supervisor. Very bad customer service experience right from the start. I left a message to his supervisor who later emailed me to inform that their company policy clearly states that they don’t do refunds. I emailed back to the supervisor explaining that I understood the company policy but this is an incident of an honest mistake. I never used your service but I got charged. I even explained that I hadn’t even known my password until I reset it. I also mentioned that they are more than welcome to check my account for usage and they will see that over 1 year period of time I had not send a single email. I have not heard anything back from them. This is a matter of ethics and I will be as persistent as possible in getting this resolved. Unethical business practices are a serious matter and they should look twice into their business practices and processes to make sure that this kind of stuff does not happen to their clients or prospects. This is a serious legal issue now.

I began using Campaigner for my business a few months ago. Creating email campaigns and managing subscriber lists is very intuitive using Campaigner. The Wizard makes it very easy to learn regardless of your skill level or expertise. The other feature I like is the image-editing feature. It allows you to make edits to images within the software which most other programs do not have. Campaigner has a variety of resources available such as webinars, a user-guide, tutorials and much more. They also have a responsive customer service team that is available by phone or email. I would definitely recommend Campaigner to any small business looking to effectively manage their email marketing efforts.
